The Mission this year: To enhance the delivery of excellence in education while cultivating the community of Khalsa Montessori Schools.
Brian introduces all the officers: Theresa Vice-President, Janet Treasurer and Victoria secretary.
Should some parents not be able to make it to the meetings all the information will be on line.
Treasurers Report: Not much happens in the summer. Should you have any questions regarding how the money is distributed in the classroom please contact Janet directly.

There will be a Treasurer’s Report every month at the meeting regarding what the teachers are spending.
Janet urged everyone to sign up for the Safeway Club Card.

Fundraising: This is a great way to make easy money for the PTO.
Fresh and Easy will be starting up(9/15/19-12/31/09)
EScrip and Safeway
Bashas thank you card. A little more complex. Must link your card to the school number 28233. This is on the school website.
Also looking to see if Sprouts has anything going on.
Amazon.com is a great way to make money for the school. Go to the website before logging in.
Box Tops for Education: these can be found on many household products and the school receives 10c for each one. There are also bonus coupons. The dead line is October 31st. There are collection boxes at both Primary and Elementary campuses. Any questions contact Victoria.
Target visa will also give back 1% to the school.
Zpizza. Every 4th Tuesday a % of the sales goes back to the School. You have to mention Khlasa. This is at all 3 locations in the Valley.
Sweet Tomatoes. Every 3rd Tuesday. You do need the flyer to bring with you. A great way to meet the community.
Gold Canyon Candles. We do well with this every year. This is run through October. Look out for the packets in your folders.
The Parent Mixer. Date still has to be set. Probably 3rd week in October. Preferably at the Hath House.
Suggestion that there be more lights around the Silent Auction.
Keely Hartsell and Tara Collison will be co-chairs for the event.
Yard Sale October 24th . Gurusimrin will be running this for the 6th time. There may also be a Halloween theme this year. All the information is on the website and you can contact him directly. The yard sale nets about $1000.00.
Adiministration Report, Donna Waters, Primary Director. Excited about how the year has started. Only one new staff member this year which is great. Anxious to see how the year progresses.
Directress Presentation, Sylbia Garza, Primary Upstairs Directress. Welcomes all the new parents. Refers to the The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Wonderful quote that will be posted on the website.
Brian reviews and brainstorms: would love to organize around peoples’ passions. Open to suggestions. Need help with the Parent/ Teacher Mixer and Silent Auction, Yard Sale, candle Sales, Bread Fundraiser. We will need volunteers through out the year . All linked to the website.
17 Unique opportunities. A parent coordinator for each classroom and also to run the phone tree. Making sure we’re green and recycling. A buy-local business coordinator. We will also be tracking all participation hours. We also need someone to be a folder stuffer when information needs to be distributed. Help setting up the monthly meetings. Also a photo coordinator.
Hare-brained schemes: Help build the community. Earth Day. Maybe a workshop to do gifts and crafts.
Choose a different park every month to meet as a community.
Steele Indian Park does free movies.
A Birthday calender for the children. January through December.
