Donated by the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company, two tickets to see The Immigrant, playing from March 6-21.
Subtitled “A Hamilton County Album”, this is a humorous and moving, true story about two Eastern European Jews who immigrated to a small Texas town in 1909. Inspired by his grandmother’s photo album, Harelik tells the story of his ancestors – two out of the thousands of Jewish immigrants who ended up in the American Southwest through an immigrant resettlement program known as the Galveston Movement. The play is enhanced through the use of projections of original family photos from the Harelik album. Featuring Valley favorites Cathy Dresbach and Mike Lawler, with Eric Zaklukiewicz as Haskell Harelik and Nathalie Cadieux as his wife, Leah. Directed by Layne Racowsky
